JAM MAKING CLASSES IN THE GREEN BRIAR JAM KITCHEN

Join in the fun in the historic Green Briar Jam Kitchen in East Sandwich and
make your own jars of something special to take home and enjoy or give as a
gift.  Expert instruction and all materials are provided to make 4 to 6 jars
of product.  Workshops for adults are scheduled from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on a
Wednesday evening and 9:30am to 11:30am on a Saturday morning.  Family
workshops, which include one adult and one child working together, are
scheduled from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on a Saturday afternoon.   Children must be
six years old to participate.  Coming up for adults are September 2 and
September 6, pear lime jam; September 20 and September 23, pineapple salsa.
Family workshops are offered on September 2, pear lime jam and September 23,
apple pie jam. The fee per workshop is $35 for members of the Thornton W.
Burgess Society, $45 for non-members.  The fee includes one adult and one
child in the family classes.  Advance registration is required by calling

FULL MOON WALK FOR FAMILIES AND ADULTS

Join a Thornton W. Burgess Society naturalist at the Green Briar Nature
Center in East Sandwich  for a nighttime hike along trails and pond edge by
the light of the Harvest Moon on Wednesday, September 6 from 7:00pm to
8:30pm.  Walk the trails of the Briar Patch searching for sight or sound of
creatures of the dusk and dark.  This fun adventure is suitable for families
with children ages 4 and up.  The fee for Burgess Society members is $5
adult, $3 child (family maximum $16); non-members $6 adult, $4 child (family
maximum $20).  Advance registration is required by calling 508-888-6870.
