Join Soheil Zendeh and Dorie Stolley to search for Piping Plovers and other late winter or early spring birds on the beach and in the water. Other species we might see include Osprey; Common Eider; Horned Grebe; Long-tailed Duck; Bufflehead; Brant; Surf, White-winged and Black Scoter; Common and Red-throated Loon; Horned Lark; Northern Harrier; Dunlin; Sanderling and Purple Sandpiper. There is even a small chance of seeing a Snowy Owl!

Participants should be able to walk 2.5 miles in sand, although we might not go that far depending on sightings. We will meet in the Long Beach parking lot and carpool to the Goldenrod field station in 4WD vehicles. There is a $15 fee. For more info. and to register, click on the URL after your date of choice.
