[SEMCO] Summer Drop-In Education Programs at the National Marine Life Center

Visit the National Marine Life Center to learn more about marine animals,
strandings, rehabilitation, and conservation! Beginning the week of June 27,
we offer daily educational programs. We're open now through Labor Day, 10 am
- 5 pm. General admission is FREE. Educational programs are extra.

 

The National Marine Life Center is located at 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay,
MA.

LITTLE FLIPPERS CLUB

Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Join us for a marine animal themed story time and craft project! All ages
welcome, and most suitable for children ages 3-8. Children must be
supervised. 45-60 min.

COST:  $5/child/program (members $3).

Week of June 26: Shark Week! Sharks, Rays, & Skates

Week of July 3: Seals, Sea Lions, & Walrus

Week of July 10: Turtles & Sea Turtles

Week of July 17: Dolphins, Porpoises, & Whales

Week of July 24: Seals, Sea Lions, & Walrus

'Week of July 31: Turtles & Sea Turtles

Week of Aug. 7: Mermaid & Pirate Party! (Costumes optional!)

Week of Aug. 14: Dolphins, Porpoises, & Whales

Week of Aug. 21: Manatees & Dugongs

 

MARINE ANIMAL MEDICAL MYSTERY

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 11 a.m.

What does it take to be a marine animal care technician? What are some of
the questions and "mysteries" involved in wildlife rehabilitation? Each week
we'll learn how to care for a different animal (same themes as above). Best
suited for ages 8-14. Please note that there will be no exposure to live
animals during this program. Program lasts approximately 60 min.

COST:  $5/child/program (members $3).

 

PATIENT UPDATE

Daily, by request

Learn more about the patients currently in our care. Please note that, for
the safety of our patients and our guests, this program does not include
direct viewing of our marine animal patients. Program lasts approximately
15-20 minutes. FREE.
