Bills, feathers, migration. Birds have a dazzling array of adaptations that enable them to live almost everywhere. A basic understanding of bird biology is key to becoming a birder. This course will utilize Manomet's teaching collection to cover the basics of bird anatomy (i.e. bills and feathers), bird behavior, and life histories. Besides learning how incredible birds really are, you'll also come away better prepared to recognize the traits that make each species unique.

This class is part of a series of classes that are intended for folks looking to get into birding for the first time. Taken together, these classes will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to enter the remarkable and highly-rewarding world of birds!
