[SEMCO] POSTPONED DUE TO SNOW: Marine Life in the Fine Arts Classroom: Educators Workshop

The Marine Life in the Fine Arts Classroom: Educators Workshop hosted by the
Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the Audubon Society of Rhode
Island has been postponed to Saturday, January 30, 2016 due to the predicted
snow storm.  

 

Participants should have been notified by email. If you were already signed
up for the workshop on the 23rd, you do not need to register again.
However, please let us know if you cannot attend.  Please call 401-245-7500
x 3014 or email adimonti at asri.org  with questions or concerns.

How can we incorporate science into visual art education? Art teachers, join
us for a special workshop led by the Stellwagen Bank National Marine
Sanctuary and experienced Audubon educators. Learn about the rich
biodiversity of marine life right here in our own ocean backyard, and how
you can expose your students to these amazing animals through visual arts
concepts and lessons.  Observe live marine life up close while we lead you
through a guided drawing lesson structured around science and art standards,
and then bring your sketchbooks into the exhibit hall for a chance to
visually explore on your own. Basic art materials will be provided, but
please feel free to bring your own materials and a sketchbook. This workshop
is FREE and open to all K-12 art educators (informal educators are also
welcome to attend). Space is limited to 20 participants. Visit www.asri.org
