Nuno Sá, the highly celebrated and internationally renowned underwater wildlife photographer, has captured the rich and diverse marine life of the pelagic oceans surrounding the Azorean archipelago. Oásis features 24 dynamic large-scale photographs of fish, sharks, and whales in their natural habitat. These dramatic images celebrate species that thrive in the deep waters of the Atlantic from perspectives that few have the privilege to experience.
The exhibition is supported by The William M. Wood Foundation, John Pinheiro and Luzo Auto, plus Pedro Carneiro and the New Bedford Portuguese Consulate. Special thanks goes to Jorge Bruno, Director of the Museu de Angra and former Regional Director for Culture in the Azores; and Márcia Dutra, Observatório do Mar dos Açores.
