WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATORS AT GREEN BRIAR

Workshops for educators are conducted at the Green Briar Nature Center in
East Sandwich by Thornton W. Burgess Society Education Director Mary Beers,
who is a Massachusetts DOE Professional Development Provider.  A certificate
of completion is given for each of the workshops.

 

On Saturday, October 15 from 8:30am to 12:30pm "Weathering and Erosion for
Elementary Grades" explores how Earth's materials are formed, shaped and
relocated using easy to understand hands-on classroom activities.  Be
prepared for indoor and outdoor explorations.  The registration fee is $25.


 

On Saturday, November 14 from 8:30am to 3:00pm "Project WILD Aquatic" for
K-12 educators explores adaptations for survival in one of the most widely
used conservation and environmental education programs.  Participants
receive the WILD curriculum guide.  The registration fee is $35.
