ANNUAL BIRD CARVERS SHOW AND SALE

Mark the calendar now for the weekend after Labor Day when the 13th Annual
Bird Carvers Show and Sale takes place in East Sandwich.  On Saturday and
Sunday, September 10 and 11 from 10am to 4pm, New England's most prestigious
carvers of birds and animals plus wildlife painters display and sell their
wares at the Green Briar Nature Center.  Some give carving demonstrations
for the public. Sunday at 1:00pm Carver Eric Kaiser presents "Birds of
Wood," a history of bird carving.  He also presents a step-by-step
description of one of his works in progress.  Also on Sunday, Carver Edward
Desrosiers demonstrates wood burning and bird feathering.   Visitors are
invited to place a bid in a silent auction of carvings donated by
participating carvers.  

 

The show admission of $3 for members of the Thornton W. Burgess Society, $5
for non-members, benefits the environmental education programs of the
Burgess Society and its Green Briar Nature Center.  Green Briar is located
at 6 Discovery Hill Road, just off Route 6A in East Sandwich.  For further
