The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Fisheries and Wildlife seeks qualified applicants for the Coldwater Fishery Resource Project Leader (Aquatic Biologist).
The Project Leader writes coldwater fishery resource management plans, analyzes fisheries and other aquatic resource data, develops recommendations and undertakes actions to identify, protect, maintain and restore coldwater fishery resources and their habitats.
The Project Leader develops project-specific priorities and plans, conducts fisheries and habitat assessment work, performs statistical and GIS analysis of data sets, and prepares technical reports and presentations.
The Project Leader interacts, coordinates, and collaborates with other state and federal environmental agencies, the regulated community and other stakeholders to further enhance protection of fisheries resources and their habitats under their respective authorities.
The Project Leader develops and makes presentations at public meetings and hearings; works with other environmental stakeholders and sportsmen’s organizations to advance watershed-based fisheries conservation and management objectives and participates in professional organizations and societies to identify emerging strategies for improving the agencies effectiveness with protecting and/or restoring fisheries populations and their habitats.
