Hi All,
Our beach cleanup and data collection about trash (COASTSWEEP) scheduled for Oct. 3 has been postponed until Oct 25. So, there is time for YOU to join us.
DATE: Oct. 25
LOCATION: Plymouth Long Beach
TIME: 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
MORE INFO and SIGN UP: http://www.goldenrod.org/blog/events/coastsweephometown-cleanup
We will divide up into teams and pick up trash while recording the amounts and types of trash. The purpose is to gather data for MA-wide (COASTSWEEP) and global (International Coastal Cleanup) efforts. The data will help strategize ways to prevent the pollution from going into the ocean in the first place. Plus, it’s beautiful on the beach and we will help keep it beautiful and safe for both people and wildlife.
Prizes will be given! They will be re-usable options for some of the disposable items we will find.
If you are thinking about doing one of these on your favorite beach, come learn how it’s done! It’s also a good project for home-schoolers, scouts, and church and other faith groups. Please sign up using the link above.
See you on the beach!
Dorie
