Three Seas Field Technician
Responsibilities:
The Three Seas Field Technician will be responsible for offsite logistics of the Three Seas Program (http://www.northeastern.edu/threeseas/). The Field Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Three Seas Program Coordinator. Programmatic needs will impact job responsibilities, including but not limited to travel and daily duties. The Field Technician will travel with the Three Seas students while they matriculate through the portions of Three Seas that are remote, including Smithsonian Tropical Research Center in Bocas del Toro, Panama, and the University of Washington’s Friday Harbor Laboratories.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology or similar field required. Direct prior experience with the Three Seas Program highly desired. One full year field research experience in a marine environment highly preferred. AAUS Scientific diving certification required. Dive Master certification or higher needed by start date. Individual must be trained in First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, CPR and AED use, and Wilderness First Aid. Significant time abroad is required, as this position will be abroad for the majority of time from September through May. Proficiency in spoken Spanish a plus.
