Screech Owl Box Building with WLCT!

At Sylvan Nursery

Join WLCT staff to build nest boxes for one of our local feathered residents: the
Screech Owl! Screech Owls are small owls, slightly larger than a soda can, and need
cavities in trees for raising their young. It has been found that creating nest 
boxes may encourage increased numbers of these incredible critters.

After creating your owl box, you are welcome to either take the box home, or donate
it to WLCT for placement in one of our conservation areas.

No experience needed. Children and families are encouraged to attend. Appropriate
for school-aged children and adults.

All supplies will be provided.

Cost: $15 per box-building group

This event is limited to 20 groups. PLEASE SIGN UP IN ADVANCE.

Please include the number of adults and children who will be attending, and the 
number of owl boxes you will be building.

Since its founding in 1972, the Westport Land Conservation Trust has  assisted landowners
in protecting more than 3,988 acres in Westport,  Massachusetts. WLCT is a private
non-governmental organization dedicated  to local land conservation on behalf of
 the Westport community. The  organization accepts gifts of land and conservation
restrictions on  land, and assists farm owners in preserving farmland with agricultural
 preservation restrictions.
