Dr. Gregory Skomal, accomplished marine biologist, underwater
explorer, photographer, aquarist, and author, will present his
research from 2009-2013, where he and his crew tagged 38 white sharks
off the coast of Cape Cod with coded acoustic transmitters and/or
satellite-based tracking tags. These tags and transmitters examine
the sharks' fine and broad-scale movements, habitat use, site
fidelity, residency and feeding behavior along the east coast of the U.S.
Dr. Skomal has been a senior fisheries biologist with Massachusetts
Marine Fisheries since 1987 and currently heads up the Massachusetts
Shark Research Program (MSRP).
CCMNH doors open for wine and hors d'oeuvres at 6pm
Dr. Skomal's presentation at 6:30pm
Price is $20/per person
