Gabriel’s at the Ashbrooke Inn to Host “Birds, Beds and Breakfast”
A Benefit Weekend for Wild Care of Cape Cod

(Provincetown, MA) (Sept. 9) - Wild Care of Cape Cod and Gabriel’s at the Ashbrooke Inn announced today they will host “Birds, Beds and Breakfast,” a benefit for Wild Care of Cape Cod, on the weekend of November 8-10, 2013. 

The weekend itinerary will feature field walks and interactive talks and about birds, whales and mammals of Cape Cod; presented by Peter Trull and Diane Boretos. Guests will also enjoy great food, cocktails and two nights at the luxurious and historic Gabriel’s at the Ashbrooke Inn, located in the heart of Provincetown. The all-inclusive cost for “Birds, Beds and Breakfast” is $600 for singles and $700-$900 per couple. 100% of proceeds from the event will go to support Wild Care of Cape Cod. Wild Care’s mission is to treat injured, ill and orphaned native wildlife, for release back into the wild capable of independent survival; to prevent wildlife casualties through public education and live counseling; and to engage the community in conservation through volunteerism. 

Peter Trull has been involved in marine research since 1976. As Director of Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Coastal Seabird Program from 1976 to 1986, he conducted research on the market trapping of Common Terns and a diversity of shorebird species in Guyana, South America. Since 1992, Peter has made over 2,000 Whale Watching trips related to education and population studies of Humpback Whales under the auspices of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies. He has written five books related to Cape Cod Natural History and currently teaches at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School in Harwich.

Diane Boretos teaches wildlife tracking programs for adults throughout New England. She is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist and the principal biologist and founder of Call of the Wild Consulting and Environmental Services. Diane began her career in natural resource protection in 1981 as a Conservation Commission member in Falmouth, and served as the Conservation Administrator in Barnstable during its rapid development in the mid-1980‘s. For six years she was a wetland biologist with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Wetlands where she specialized in wildlife habitat regulations. She is co-author of Stackpole Book’s Bird Tracks and Sign and editor of Wetlands by Paul Rezendes
