Environmentalists -

The last three summers have been brutal. Millions of Americans have suffered because of droughts, heat waves, massive power failures, extreme weather events, and other problems. Last October, Hurricane Sandy hit the Northeast and caused major damage to coastal communities.

Hurricane season starts on June 1st. Two programs have been developed for Cape Cod and island communities that are trying to respond to immediate problems. If you're concerned about climate change, please join us.

MAY 29th: (Wednesday.) Community program for grassroots groups and congregations that are concerned about the health and safety issues that related to climate change. Information about emergency services, the problems of dehydration and heat exhaustion, Lyme disease, etc. The Sierra Club and the Falmouth Clergy Association are providing assistance in developing this program..... Starts at 7:00 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist church in Falmouth. Free. All people invited. The building is accessible for people with disabilities...... The Unitrian Universalist church is located at 840 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth..... For more information, please contact the church office. Telephone: (508) 457-0449.

MAY 30th: (Thursday.) A special class on "psychological first aid" will be offered on Thursday night, May 30, in Falmouth. This class will be helpful for volunteers who work with families, senior citizen groups, emergency shelters, health care centers, congregations, schools, etc. The class is free. However: Preregistration is required. If you are interested in this program, please contact Bob Murphy, in Falmouth. murphydalzell at aol.com (The class will be offered in Falmouth at a place that will be announced.)
