Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
invites you to

Sonic Cape Cod
Wednesday, June 26, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
>From internationally renowned painters to picture postcards, Cape Cod's haunting beauty has been captured and conveyed around the world for decades. But few have trained an ear on the sounds of the Cape and its sonic landscape. Berklee College of Music professor Steve Wilkes will share the best of his Hear Cape Cod project, a collection of quintessential and quirky sounds of the Cape and Islands as suggested and recalled by the people who have spent time here. You'll hear high fidelity recordings of everything from courting great horned owls, bob whites, the crash of ocean waves, to the controlled chaos of a summer restaurant kitchen. Steve will also share what caught his professional ear during his recording efforts: a chance for fellow musicians to write music incorporating the sounds he gathered and to create original music inspired by Cape Cod's sonic magic.
