Yes, the bidding went wild!

We extend a gracious thank you to all of the people who made Hookers Ball XII such
an incredible success. From sponsors to volunteers, and from fishermen to people
 who bid and donated, the event was a whole lotta fun and marked a significant financial
achievement, as well.

It was a veritable, local seafood showdown! Straight from the fishermen, we served:
1,700 littleneck clams, 1,000 Wellfleet oysters, 325 pounds of fish, featuring bluefin
tuna, monkfish, haddock, dogfish and flounder, 140 pounds of scallops, 120 pounds
of mussels, 100 pounds of steamers, 50 pounds of razor clams, 25 pounds of lobster
meat. This was all complemented by more than 65 silent auction items, 10 live auction
packages, one amazing auctioneer in John Terrio and a room full of music by Tuxedo
Junction.

The result:

700 happy, satiated, altruistic people, 180 of whom were fishermen and other fishing
community members, who contributed to raise $183,000 in proceeds to support the 
expanding mission of the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance.

We launched a collaboration with The Family Pantry of Cape Cod [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001KpAtOQY65tRMWkgZ_bPzngV8uv5cu0voiAhkKMPspQA5Swbw-hYbu9CpnRb36FBXJpaIu8yBTLAaOx8rsjLnYjCoqh5wp93Pl6j7MsUTkeGJ5f5zqjbUvaLkNpGX6NLc]
to provide fresh, healthy seafood donated by local fishermen to Cape Codders in 
need. The pilot involved 10 scallopers who each donated between 70 to 100 pounds
