On Saturday, October 13 at 1 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will
present Wing Island Archaeology Project Update with Dr. Fred Dunford.
This program is free with Museum admission.
Join noted local archaeologist Dr. Fred Dunford for an informative and
informal talk detailing the latest news and findings from the Wing Island
Archaeology Project. Wing Island is named for John Wing, the first English
settler to live in this part of Cape Cod.
In his book with Greg O'Brien - Secrets in the Sand: The Archaeology and
the Pre-History of Cape Cod - Dr. Dunford wrote about the nearly 9,000
years of findings on Wing Island that illustrate prehistoric Cape Cod in
this area before European settlement.
This event is a major opportunity to learn about the fascinating research
that sheds further light on this remarkable site behind the Museum,
