Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary invites you to

FREE Discovery Day
Saturday, October 20, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Celebrate the opening of the new Sensory Trail! The Goose Pond Trail includes our Robert R. Read All-Persons Pathway and the Sensory Trail, which increases accessibility to the Sanctuary for all visitors. Enjoy local food, live art, and free family activities. We invite you to relax with an autumn walk on our trails, bring a friend who is new to the sanctuary, and engage your family with fun, interactive activities - all for free!

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sensory Exploration on the Trails
Discover nature through hands-on exhibits and education experiences on the trails that are designed to appeal to your senses of touch, taste, smell, and hearing. The aromatherapy formulator from Welstar Organics will be here to teach us how scents affect our mood and health. We'll be dip-netting in the marsh too!

10:30 a.m.
Connecting All People with Nature Talk
Learn how Mass Audubon has developed ten ADA universally accessible nature trails with sensory-oriented interpretation for visitors with a wide range of vision, hearing, and mobility levels.

11 a.m.
Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

11 a.m.
Fiddlestix food truck and Lewis Brothers ice cream truck arrive!

11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Master illusionist Darren Yong will deceive your senses with his dazzling close-up magic.

12:30 p.m. Local poet Liz Bradfield reads from her nature-inspired work, and will guide visitors in writing their own poems in the nature center.

Transform into a wild creature as we get crafty in anticipation of Halloween. We'll play with texture and shape as we make our costumes.
