Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary wishes you a happy Thanksgiving
and invites you to visit the sanctuary over the holiday weekend.

The trails are open every day until dusk, and the nature center is open every day except Thursday, November 22. Check out our holiday weekend natural history programs:

Adult Programs

Owling at Wellfleet Bay: Join naturalist Dennis Murley for an indoor presentation to learn more about the predatory skills and survival techniques of owls. If conditions are right, we will go outside; if we are quiet enough, we hope to see or hear hooting great horned owls, trilling screech owls, and tooting saw-whets. Friday, November 23, 5 - 7 p.m. $7 Members/$9 Nonmembers

Rescuing Sea Turtles: Juvenile sea turtles are found cold-stunned and stranded on Cape Cod Bay beaches every year in late fall. Attend this talk to learn more about sea turtle biology, theories on why they strand, and information on how to help with rescue efforts. Saturday, November 23, 2 - 3 p.m. $5 Members/$7 Nonmembers

Family Programs

Owl Prowl: Learn about local owl species by examining owl wings, talons, and beaks; then take a walk through the forest to search for signs of owls living at the sanctuary. We'll also read a story and dissect an owl pellet to see what an owl eats. Please dress for cold, windy weather. Saturday, November 23, 3 - 4:30 p.m. $6 Members/ $8 Nonmembers
