Space is still available for the 2012 Decision Maker Workshop Series continues on March 22nd. These free workshops will focus on restoring the region's rivers, wetlands and living resources. Whether you are replacing an undersized culverts in a stream or saltmarsh or making the case for a new fish ladder or dam removal, these workshops will give you the tools to successfully complete the project.
Workshops include site visits and presentations from experts.
* Thursday March 22, 2012:
Restoration in the Community
* 10:00am-5:00pm - Briarwood Marine Center, Monument Beach
* Site Visit - Little Sippewissett Marsh
* Keynote Speaker - David Gould, Environmental Resource Manager, Town of Plymouth
* This workshop will tools to address community concerns and encourage participation in restoration projects.
* Thursday April 5, 2012:
Making Restoration Happen:
* 10:00 am-5:00 pm - Cranberry Station, East Wareham
* Site Visit - Red Brook River
* Keynote Speaker - Tim Purinton, Director of Division of Ecological Restoration, Mass Department of Fish and Game
* This workshop will provide participants with information on finding funding for restoration projects, navigating the permitting, planning and design process, and understand each decision-makers role in the success of the projects.
