Development Assistant
Buzzards Bay Coalition
Join a dynamic Development team, supporting the development and maintenance of positive relationships with a diverse mix of individual, foundation, and corporate members and donors. Participate in a fast-paced team environment, ensuring high-touch customized communications with constituents. Contribute to the success of multiple fundraising events, and a full spectrum of fundraising activities, by providing administrative and logistical support, maintaining database and record-keeping integrity, and producing highly personalized communications.
Maintain the Raiser's Edge fundraising database to ensure accurate and up-to-date data, including constituent biographical data; gift, pledge, and transactional data; gift allocation coding; and constituent relationship linking. Support the production of timely and accurate acknowledgement letters for donors and funders. Provide administrative support and coordination for direct mailings and special events.
The position is part-time (32 hours/week) with benefits, with the potential of increasing to 40 hours/week in July 2012.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion in managing confidential data, and a professional and positive demeanor. Comfort working in a team environment, ability to manage multiple tasks and take initiative, and strong computer skills are essential. Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge is a strong plus. Candidate should share an enthusiastic commitment to the conservation mission of the Buzzards Bay Coalition.
Background
The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and sustainable use and enjoyment of our irreplaceable Bay and its watershed. The Buzzards Bay Coalition works to improve the health of the Bay ecosystem for all through education, conservation, research, and advocacy. The Coalition is managed by a 17-member volunteer Board of Directors and maintains a staff of 16 at its recently green-renovated historic offices in New Bedford.
