Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder that there will be a FREE workshop hosted by the North
American Association for Environmental Education for whale watching
companies/naturalists/and other environmental educators held from 9-3:30
on August 13, 2012 in Boston, MA.
Why should you consider sending someone from your staff?
* Whale watch passengers surveyed last summer indicated that the
educational program onboard a whale watch is a huge factor that
determined whether or not they enjoyed their trip.
* Facilitators will be reviewing national standards for informal
environmental education and how these standards can be applied to whale
watching narrations.
* Participants will have the opportunity to get feedback from
experts on their educational programs and learn how to make sure their
programs are meeting national standards.
* Participants will take home knowledge that can be directly
applied to your educational programs.
* This is an excellent professional development opportunity for
your naturalists.
I recognize that this is an incredibly busy time of year for most of
you, and I apologize that the timing could not be better. We do not
know if this opportunity will be available again in the future. I
strongly encourage each company to consider sending at least one staff
member, if possible, to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be sending a
representative. Space is limited.
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
Allison Rosner
P.S. We will try to offer the program through a live webinar for those
who are not available to come to Boston for the day. If your company is
interested in participating via webinar, please let me know and I will
send you the call in information.
