Barnstable - The Cape Wildlife Center hosts Wild Talks of the Air, Land & Sea - a lecture series to engage and delight the Cape's nature lovers. All presentations are open to the public. February 8        Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and Research on Cape Cod with Kathy Zagzebski, Executive Director, National Marine Life Center - This talk will introduce sea turtle species found in Cape Cod waters, which is a stranding hotspot for juvenile sea turtles, and explore the reasons for strandings and processes of rehabilitation, research and species conservation.

February 29       'HELP! There's a Duck in My Chimney!" - How to Resolve Common & Sometimes Bizarre Wildlife Problems with Laura Simon, Field Director of the Urban Wildlife Program, HSUS and John Griffin, Director of Humane Wildlife Services (HWS) - In spring and summer, Cape Codders often find themselves face to face with a raccoon in the kitchen, a skunk under the deck, baby birds fallen from a nest, or a woodpecker tapping loudly on the house at 5am. Solutions to these problems can be surprisingly simple, so bring your questions!

March 7          Cape Cod Water Resources Restoration Project with Donald Liptack, District Conservationist, USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service - This 10 year, $30 million project, a county-wide effort with strong local, state and federal partnerships, will improve water quality for 7,300 acres of shellfish areas, improve fish access to 4,200 acres of spawning habitat and restore 1,500 acres of degraded salt marshes. The presentation will explain the plan's inception, the networking and support gathering for the plan and the current implementation progress.

March 21        OWLS 101 with Dr. Roberto Aguilar, Veterinarian, Cape Wildlife Center - Owls are predatory birds which are iconic, mysterious and wondrous. Come learn everything you wanted to know about these mysterious birds from the CWC's Medical Director.

April 4 The Mudflats of Brewster with Bud Ferris, Naturalist, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History - This presentation will introduce you to the myriad of creatures that live on, in and under the mudflats of Cape Cod. Discover the importance of this fascinating habitat to our local ecology and the marine environment.
