Have Your Landscape and Eat It Too!
Tuesday, May 3[http://ih.constantcontact.com/fs011/1102697684784/img/78.jpg]
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Waquoit Bay Reserve continues its monthly first Tuesdays forums at the Visitor Center on May 3 at 7:00 pm with "Have Your Landscape and Eat it, too". Terry Soares will share ideas on how to reduce your use of fertilizers in your yard while creating a beautiful and even edible landscape.
Terry will bring potted examples of the featured plants that participants can see, touch and smell. Participants can discover how low maintenance plants, natives, and native cultivars can enhance one's landscape. Information about Falmouth (and Cape) Friendly lawns will be provided. Participants will have the opportunity to win a door prize of an edible vegetable and herb container donated by Soares Nursery and Landscaping. People are encouraged to come fifteen minutes early to sample snacks made from plants that can be grown in the Cape Cod landscape and to view visitor center exhibits.
Terry Soares, co-owner of Soares Nursery and Landscaping, is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, and the Massachusetts Farm Bureau, and is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturalist.
