[SEMCO] Bat Detectors at Long Pasture July 20th, 7:30

Dear Friends,

 

This is a one of a kind program on Cape Cod about a creature that is
always about in summer though we may not always be aware of it. Mark is
able to detect bat sonar patterns on his laptop and identify the
species. How cool is that?

Bat Detectors!

 

 

Souls of the dead? Flying mice? Mass Audubon's own "Bat Man" and
Mythbuster, Scientist Mark Faherty, will use technology to detect the
paths of bats in the darkness and present the truth about these
remarkable creatures so long reviled and linked to vampires.

Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the north side of Rt 6a in
Barnstable.  Trails are open daily dawn to dusk.  Sanctuary admission is
free for members; $4 adults, $3 children for non-members. Call (508)
