Please join the Ocean Explorium at New Bedford Seaport (174 Union Street, New Bedford) for the last speaker in our WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) speaker series this Thursday 3/25. Dr. Offner will be discussing "The Birth of our Sun"

Stars are hot, very dense beacons in the frozen, nearly complete vacuum of space. This leads to the question: how do stars form from their environment? The talk will explore the origin of our sun, discuss why it has planets but no stellar companion, and conclude with a summary of its future prospects.

Please join us at 6:15 for a reception and a chance to mingle and view the Ocean Explorium and at 7pm for the talk. The cost is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, Students are free for the WISE series. More information can be found at www.oceanexplorium.org
