[SEMCO] Volunteer to Help Monitor Seabirds on the East Coast!!

Hi!

My name is Sarabeth Buckley and I am a summer intern working for the *Seabird
Ecological Assessment Network (SEANET**)* at the Cummings School of
Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. SEANET is an ongoing project
assessing seabird mortality along the eastern seaboard of the United States.

*We Need Volunteers to Help Monitoring Seabirds on the Coast!*

*Volunteers would:
*

   - Walk an assigned 1Km stretch of beach
   - Once or twice a month for at least a year
   - Record environmental data
   - Report both dead and live birds seen on the beach

These data are used to *establish a baseline for unusual marine bird
mortality events* caused by natural (e.g., hurricanes) and human-induced
events (e.g., oil spills). Monitoring seabirds can help us understand the
overall health of an ecosystem and what it means for the animals and people
who use the beach.

Our data is entirely volunteer generated, and we need your help! If you are
interested in either volunteering or helping us get the word out about our
