Hi!<br><br>My name is Sarabeth Buckley and I am a 
summer intern working for the <b>Seabird Ecological Assessment Network 
(SEANET</b><u><i>)</i></u> at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine
 at Tufts University. SEANET is an ongoing project assessing seabird 
mortality along the eastern seaboard of the United States.<br><br><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="2"><u><b>We Need 
Volunteers to Help Monitoring Seabirds on the Coast!</b></u></font><br><br><u>Volunteers
 would:<br></u></p><ul><li>Walk an assigned 1Km stretch of beach</li><li>Once
 or twice a month for at least a year</li><li>Record environmental data</li><li>Report
 both dead and live birds seen on the beach</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">These data are used to <u>establish a 
baseline for unusual marine bird mortality events</u><font size="2"> 
caused by natural (e.g.,
hurricanes) and human-induced events (e.g., oil spills). Monitoring 
seabirds
can help us understand the overall health of an ecosystem and what it 
means for
the animals and people who use the beach.</font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">
