On behalf of ReMain Nantucket and the Egan Maritime Institute, we are
pleased to invite you to the first /Living on the Edge/ Coastal
Communities Conference presented in collaboration with the Woods Hole
Oceanographic Institution and The Nature Conservancy on Friday,
September. 24th. The conference is being held in the historic Coffin
School on Winter Street in Nantucket. Early registration for the
conference is by invitation only; please register as soon as possible as
seating is limited.

The conference will explore the challenges facing coastal communities
related to rising sea levels. Presentations will focus on how some
communities are adapting to and mitigating the serious impact of the
problem and what others need to do to plan for the future.

You and other participants will have the opportunity to listen and
learn from the experiences and diverse points of view of the planners,
government officials, engineers, insurance experts and scientists in
attendance. Your expertise would add value and depth to the Q & A
sessions and discussions.

 Please visit our website at

http://www.coastalcommunitiesconference.org/

to learn more about the conference. The registration fee for the
conference is $75 to cover the costs of the luncheon and materials.
