Quashnet River Woods
Tuesday, April 20th, 10:00am to 12:00pm

Come along for an easy paced hike along our Healthy Heart [cid:image004.png at 01CADD5E.9B6F7E00] Trail in search of river herring and other signs of spring.  At water's edge we'll look for fish, eels and otter tracks; we'll smell the wintergreen and listen for song birds and frog calls as we explore both sides of this 3 mile riverside loop.

Meet at the Martin Road parking lot off Route 28 in Falmouth, near the Mashpee town line.

Bird Brains
Thursday, April 22nd, 10:00am to 11:30am

[cid:image008.png at 01CADD5E.9B6F7E00]We'll use games, stories and hands-on activities to discover amazing bird behaviors and adaptations.  Try feeding like a shorebird, woodpecker and hummingbird then discover hidden dangers as you try to "nest" on the beach.  We'll use scopes to observe osprey in their nest and follow the journey of migrating birds to discover why some travel far south each winter then return to Cape Cod in the Spring.

Meet at the Visitor Center at 149 Waquoit Highway in Waquoit, MA.  Program is free and open to the public.  Reasonable accommodations available upon request.

Park Serve Day
Saturday April 24th  9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Celebrate the earth by joining families, singles and groups in a state-wide volunteer effort to help maintain our valuable natural resources. Reserve staff will meet interested volunteers at South Cape Beach State Park in Mashpee to spruce up the beach and trails for residents and our seasonal guests. Bring your family, friends and enthusiasm and we'll supply the trash bags, gloves, tools and snacks. Park at town of Mashpee lot. From Mashpee rotary take Great Neck Road South to Great Oak Road.
