[SEMCO] Marine Art Contest Underway

*Marine Art Contest Now Underway*
The annual Marine Art Contest for students in grades K-12 is now 
underway, with divisions for K-4, 5-8, 9-12, computer graphics (all 
grades) and scientific illustration (all grades) and a theme of "Amazing 
Ocean Creatures of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the 
Gulf of Maine."  Prizes include cash awards, whale watch tickets, 
aquarium passes, and certificates. The contest is sponsored by the 
Massachusetts Marine Educators, Stellwagen Bank National Marine 
Sanctuary, New England Aquarium, Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies 
and several other organizations.

The brochure contains all pertinent rules and registration information.  
There is no cost, and artwork can be returned if so noted with the entry 
form.  Since the original deadline of April 25 is a Sunday, entries 
postmarked or hand-delivered to the Stellwagen Bank sanctuary office in 
Scituate on April 26th will also be accepted.  This art contest may 
serve as an interesting and challenging project for April school
