*Provincetown** Center** for Coastal Studies Announces Fall Lecture Series*
(Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA) - The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies
will host a discussion on the Massachusetts Ocean Management Plan on
November 5th at 6 p.m. as part of the annual fall lecture series at the
Hiebert Marine Lab, 5 Holway Avenue in Provincetown. Lectures will run
every first Thursday of the month through December. PCCS Lectures are free
and open to the public.

Learn about the Mass. Ocean Management Plan and what it means for the future
of Massachusetts’ waters. John Weber will explain the plan in detail.
Following,
PCCS and John will discuss the Center’s comments on the plan, opening the
floor for discussion. Representatives from the Cape Cod Commission,
Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC) and the Cape Cod Hook Fishermen’s
Association will participate in the discussion. Come learn about and
contribute to the future of your coastal waters.
John Weber has 11 years of experience in the environmental field and has
focused on coastal and ocean management issues. As the Ocean Services
Manager for the MA Office of Coastal Zone Management, he manages the
day-to-day activities necessary for the development of the MA ocean
management plan. John's previous experience at CZM included review of Boston
waterfront development and planning activities, and prior to joining CZM he
worked on dredging and wetland restoration projects in the San Francisco Bay
area. John has a B.S. in Coastal Geology from Long Island University and an
M.S. in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University.
