[SEMCO] CELEBRATION: Sustainable Food Production (October 24th)

THE RACHEL CARSON HARVEST DINNER 
 
Cape Cod has an annual celebration of  "earth friendly" and local food  
production on the coast of Massachusetts....   It's also an annual  celebration 
of environmentalist Rachel Carson.
 
The seventh annual Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner will take place on Sunday  
night, October 25th, at the Navigator, in Falmouth....   The doors  open at 
5:30 pm and dinner will be served from 6:00 pm into the early  evening....  
The Navigator is located at 55 Ashumet Road, in east Falmouth,  near 
Sandwich Road.
 
All of the money raised at this event will be donated to the community food 
 pantries that serve Falmouth,
Mashpee, Bourne, and Sandwich....  Tickets at the door will be $15.00  each 
for adults and $5.00 each for children twelve years and younger....   
Everybody is invited to this  unusual community celebration!
 
The menu consists of  homemade chicken pies with extras....   Vegetarian 
meals will  be available.
 
The annual Sunflower Awards will be presented to groups and individuals  
that have supported "earth-friendly"
gardening, landscaping, and food production and distribution on Cape  
Cod....   This year's Sunflower Awards
will be presented to John and Debbie Netto;  the Sandwich Food Pantry;  and 
the Falmouth Farmers Market....   Music will be privided by  guitarist  
David Wilson....  
 
The Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner is co-sponsored  by a group of  
environmental, religious, and community groups concerned about the future of  food 
production on Cape Cod....   For additional information,  please
