Land Management consultant
The Orleans Conservation Trust seeks a land management consultant for 20 to 25 hours weekly. Candidates should have administrative expertise as well as outdoor skills. The consultant will monitor trust properties, represent the trust at municipal and public meetings, and assess proposals for new gifts, purchases and conservation restrictions. The consultant will plan and carry out the removal of invasives and creation and maintenance of trails as well as prepare press releases about new acquisitions and fund-raising.
Candidates should have a bachelor or Master's degree in an environmental field, GIS skills, two years' experience with land trusts or a related conservation field and a familiarity with Massachusetts habitat and environmental laws. Hours and pay are negotiable.
Since 1970, the OCT has preserved 562 acres of open space through deeded gifts, purchases and conservatioin restrictions.
