In Search of Diamondback
Terrapins on Sandy Neck


 

In summer, rare Diamondback Terrapins emerge from the Great Marsh to lay
their eggs in the dunes of Sandy Neck. Join Ranger Nina Coleman and
Sanctuary Director Ian Ives, as we search for signs of nests and tracks
of these amazing and mysterious turtles and learn about the headstart
program helping tiny terrapins.



Tuesday, July 7th, 9 am - 11 am
$6 Members, $8 Non-members/ $4 and $6 for Children

Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the north side of Rt 6a in
Barnstable.  Trails are open daily dawn to dusk.  Sanctuary admission is
free for members; $4 adults, $3 children for non-members. Call (508)
