Science Programs Educator
Job Description
Learn and teach Resource Center programs.
Develop Science Saturdays programs and teach them one Saturday per month.
Be responsible for all set up and break down for programs, including
charging of laptop computers and photocopying of program handouts and
pre-visit materials.
Greet Resource Center groups at the door as they arrive.
Administer assessment quizzes as needed.
Assist with tracking of audience numbers.
Consolidate and ‘beautify’ Performing Arts Festival curriculum sent in
by ECHO partners, so the curriculum can be put onto ECHOspace.org
Share relevant workshop promotional materials and other resources with
teachers who attend Resource Center programs.
This job is part time, maximum 15 hours per week, from mid-October
through mid-June. Training will take place in October. SPE is expected
to start leading programs in early November once he/she has shadowed
three presentations of each program.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education or marine science,
ability to follow and understand written and oral instruction, teaching
/ presentation experience with students aged 8-15 is preferred, ability
to work independently once training is complete.
SPE will report to the Science Programs Manager.
This is a temporary grant-funded position.
