Wild Harvest -Abandoned Bogs and Preserved Wetlands

Location: Jehu Pond/Abigail Brook Trail - Mashpee 

Date: October 4th, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Join Renee Fudala, science educator and former Waquoit Bay Reserve Interpretive Naturalist for a walk through this diverse area. You'll hike along a woodland trail past abandoned bogs and natural wetlands, catching glimpses of beautiful Jehu Pond. Listen to the natural history of the plants and animals you see as well as the impacts of humans on the wetlands of Massachusetts. Waquoit Bay Reserve's Stewardship Coordinator, Jim Rassman will be on hand to discuss current preservation efforts.

 Directions: From the Mashpee rotary, follow Great Neck Rd. until it becomes Great Oak Rd. Look for the Jehu Pond Conservation Area sign on your right, continue ½ mile ahead to second Jehu Pond sign and turn into parking lot on right.
