ENERGY JUSTICE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 14th

Energy prices on Cape Cod and on the nearby islands are among the highest in
the United States... Small business owners, the elderly, and
middle-income and low-income families are being hit very hard.... What can we do for
social justice and the environment? How do we protect coastal areas while
honoring human needs in New England?

One possibility is to develop community-owned resources for clean energy
production.
Give communities control over their energy supply. Keep money on the
Cape and islands to help local business owners and others who need energy
assistance.

On Wednesday night, May 14th, there will be a community meeting in Falmouth
to investigate possibilies for developing community-owned win power
facilities.

The meeting will start at 7:00 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist church in
East Falmouth.... The church building is located at 840 Sandwich Road in East
Falmouth.... It's easily accessible for people with disabilities. There's
a bicycle rack for bicycles... Everybody is invited. Free admission....
For travel directions and more information, telephone the church
office. Telephone: (508) 457-0449.

The meeting is co-sponsored by Self-Reliance and the congregation.

At 6:30 pm, Megan Amsler will provide a brief introduction to wind power
issues.
