On Friday, September 12 at 7:30 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in
Brewster will present a lecture and slide program on the life and legacy of
author Henry Beston with Donald Wilding, Executive Director and President of
the Henry Beston Society. This event is free to the public.

Mr. Wilding's program will focus on how Beston came to the Outer Cape and
how the Great Beach worked its magic on him. There will be stories of
Beston's "Year on the Beach" that you may not have heard, how Beston's
Outermost House came to be dedicated as a National Literary Landmark, and
the account of how "the Fo'castle" met its end in the high tides of the
storm known as "The Blizzard of '78."

This program is a special presentation in conjunction with the exhibit: A
Sense of Place- The Writings of Henry Beston, John Hay and Robert Finch, now
on display at the Museum.
