> South Wellfleet and Waquoit, MA - Concerns over the impacts of climate change and rising energy costs have fueled interest in energy conservation and utilizing renewable energy in our own homes and small businesses. By acting as individuals we can reduce our reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels. From simple changes such as making your home> '> s current heating system more efficient to purchasing an electric vehicle-you can make a difference. A FREE workshop entitled > "> Go Green> ">  will show you how.

> Co-sponsored by the Cape & Island Renewable Energy Collaborative, Mass Audubon> '> s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, and Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, > "> Go Green> ">  is a free, all-day workshop that focuses on energy efficiency and renewable energy systems in the home and small business. Scheduled for October 31, the workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in South Wellfleet and then repeated on November 3 at Waquoit Bay Reserve in Waquoit.

> The workshop will feature presentations by expert speakers from a variety of organizations and companies including Kevin Galligan of the Cape Light Compact; Richard Lawrence of the Cape & Island Renewable Energy Collaborative; Bruce Torrey, an expert on making your building energy efficient; and Tom Wineman, a renewable energy consultant. Take-home information designed to help you improve your quality of life, save money, and help protect the Cape> '> s natural resources will also be provided. Topics will include the benefits of energy efficiency, alternative vehicles, solar power, and > "> clean and green> ">  electricity.
