The movie "Toxic Bust" will be shown on Wednesday night, October 10th, at
the Unitarian Universalist church in Falmouth. The movie will start at 7:00

"Toxic Bust" makes the argument that synthetic chemicals in the
environment are responsible for the high rates of breast cancer reported in several
areas in the United States. Information about breast cancer studies on Cape
Cod is included.
Cheryl Osimo from the Silent Spring Institute's Breast Cancer and
Environment Study will speak after the movie is shown. All people are invited.
Admission will be free. The Unitarian church building is easily accessible for
people with disabilities.... The church is located at 840 Sandwich Road in
East Falmouth. Information: (508) 457-0449.
On Saturday night, October 13th, the Unitarian Universalist church will host
Cape Cod's annual Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner.... This is an old-fashioned
church supper that honors "earth friendly" and "people friendly"
gardening, agriculture, and landscaping on Cape Cod... Awards are presented to
environmentalists, human services workers, and others who are involved in
environmental justice work for the community. All of the money raised at the
Rachel Carson Harvest Dinner is donated to community food pantries.
For information about ticket prices, travel directions, etc., please (508)
457-0449.
This year marks the 100th birthday year for Rachel Carson. She began her
marine biology studies in Woods Hole and she is identified with a variety of
coastal studies concerns.
