Workshop Description:

 

This workshop will enhance understanding about the state of the science
related to global climate change, what impacts can be expected on land,
water and ecological resources in coastal regions like Cape Cod, and
what it means to adapt to a changing climate.  As research progresses on
global change, there is an increasing need for communities and local
governments to better understand the environmental, social and economic
dimensions of this issue and how it is connected to planning,
development, conservation, policy-making and management efforts at the
local level. Vulnerability to climate change impacts will be addressed
as well as adaptation strategies that can be applied to help build
community resiliency.  Information and resources to support adaptation
planning will also be provided.

 

*This workshop was specifically developed based on audience needs
ascertained from a series of meetings held with municipal officials,
staff and volunteers from many of the towns on the Cape.  

Target Audience:

Coastal managers, municipal officials, conservation commissions,
planners, water resource managers, health agents, DPW directors, town
board members and local environmental organizations.

The attached brochure contains additional information on the agenda and
how to register.
