The Friends of the CCMNH are proud to present George Muhlebach as our April
guest speaker. George is the resident bee-keeper for the CCMNH. He started
with new observation hive two years ago. In 2006, three bee hives were
established on the Museum property on the south side of Route 6A. Under
George's tutelage, volunteers were trained in the various aspects of hive
operation and care, and the summer's hive opening program was very
successful. It culminated with the "First Annual Honey Extraction Festival"
in early October of last year. This year, another training program is under
way and we expect to have a hive opening program that is at least as large
as the very successful 2006 program.

George is a retired chemist, originally from Switzerland. For the last 9
years, George and his wife Elisabeth have lived in Barnstable. They have
two grown children, a daughter living in Connecticut and a son living in
Massachusetts.
