PLANNING FOR APRIL 14th
On April 14th, hundreds of citizens events, in every part of the United
States, will address the global warming problem. At least six events are now
being planned for Cape Cod.
In Hyannis, the Sierra Club's Cape Cod and Islands Group is working with
religious and community organizations to address the global warming problem in
an environmental justice context. There will be a community gathering on
Saturday, April 14th, that will start at Michael Aselton Park, overlooking
Hyannis Harbor.... The gathering will be continued at the Federated Church of
Hyannis, at 320 Main Street, with a meeting starting at 1:30 pm.
On Tuesday night, March 13th, the Sierra Club's planning group will meet to
outline plans for the Hyannis rally in April.... This is an opportunity to
learn more about environmental justice work and national and local
responses to climate change concerns.... The March 13th meeting will take place at
the Unitarian Universalist church, 840 Sandwich Road, in East Falmouth....
This is an "organizers' meeting," however, it's open to all people who are
concerned about social justice and environmental protection.
For information about both the March 13th and April 14th events, contact Bob
Murphy and the Sierra Club. _murphydalzell at aol.com_
