Digital Photography Workshop for Children 

at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

On Saturday, August 11 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm a Digital Photography
Workshop for Children will be given at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural
History in Brewster.   The workshop "Art in Nature, Nature in Art" is for
8-12 year-olds, limited to the first ten children registered.  There is no
charge. Participants should bring their lunches.

 

Larry Sweeney, photography instructor at the Cape Cod Art Association of
Barnstable, will teach the basics of using a digital camera (camera
provided).  With a museum naturalist, Mr. Sweeney will escort students
through the varied habitats on the museum property to photograph their
'sense of wonder,' in the words of Rachel Carson.

 

The workshop will include a camera lesson (10-11am), taking photographs with
the naturalist (11 am-12:30 pm), lunch (12:30-1 pm) and reviewing and
printing photographs (1-3 pm).   

 

This program is a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the
excitement of using digital photography to express their visions of the
natural world.
