NEW YEARS DAY INVITATION
 
Come join the coastal protection effort on New Years Day on Cape  Cod!

Every year since 2001,  environmentalists, human rights  advocates,  
scientists, religious groups, social service workers, and  others, have joined 
together in Woods Hole on January 1st for an unusual  celebration.....  We honor 
justice, peace, and the environment.
 
The theme is,  "Energy, Peace, Justice."

The big  questions include,  "How do we provide all people, in all  nations, 
with adequate sources of energy that are safe, affordable, and  sustainable?"  
How do we do this without destroying the coast and the  rest of the natural 
environment?   How do we provide for energy  needs without creating wars to 
control oil supplies and other scarce natural  resources?
 
We don't have all of the answers.   We may have the right  questions.
 
Meet at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 1st, at the Woods Hole Community Hall  
in Woods Hole, on Water Street, in Woods Hole, on Cape Cod....   The  main 
speaker will be Brenda Swain, the director of the Falmouth Service  Center.   This 
is the human services agency that manages much of the  fuel assistance work 
for our area.... Good people to remember.
 
At noon, we'll have the annual walk around Eel Pond, in Woods Hole.
