INVITATION TO MEMORIAL SERVICE
 
Jim Mavor,  who was active in the Woods Hole community for many years,  will 
be remembered at a special memorial gathering on Saturday afternoon,  
September 2nd, at the Woods Hole Community Hall.   Friends, neighbors,  and fellow 
scientists are invited.
 
He died at his home, on August 29, as the result of cancer.
 
Jim began work at WHOI in 1957.  Information about his WHOI service  appeared 
in his obituary in the Friday, September 1st edition of the "Cape Cod  Times."
 
Jim and his wife Mary founded the weekly Woods Hole Folk Dance and the  
monthly Woods Hole Contra Dance, and he was a founding member of the Woods Hole  
Folk Orchestra.
 
The memorial service at the Woods Hole Community Hall will begin at 2:00  pm. 
 
 
Jim and Mary Mavor were Unitarian Universalists.  Rev. Bob  Murphy, the 
Unitarian Universalist minister in Falmouth, will assist with  Saturday's memorial 
service.
