<DIV>INVITATION TO MEMORIAL SERVICE</DIV>

<DIV>Jim Mavor, who was active in the Woods Hole community for many years,
will be remembered at a special memorial gathering on Saturday afternoon,
September 2nd, at the Woods Hole Community Hall. Friends, neighbors,
and fellow scientists are invited.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>He died at his home, on August 29, as the result of cancer.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Jim began work at WHOI in 1957. Information about his WHOI service
appeared in his obituary in the Friday, September 1st edition of the "Cape Cod
Times."</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Jim and his wife Mary founded the weekly Woods Hole Folk Dance and the
monthly Woods Hole Contra Dance, and he was a founding member of the Woods Hole
Folk Orchestra.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The memorial service at the Woods Hole Community Hall will begin at 2:00
pm. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Jim and Mary Mavor were Unitarian Universalists. Rev. Bob
Murphy, the Unitarian Universalist minister in Falmouth, will assist with
Saturday's memorial service.</DIV>
