Hello,

Below please find an invitation to participate in the upcoming Watershed
Block Party at the Waquoit Bay Reserve's Headquarters on Tuesday, August
8th.  If your organization or group is interested please contact me if
you'd like more information.  

 

Or, if you'd just like to attend a great community event, join us on the
bluff and meet other organizations in your community. Feel free and
bring a picnic dinner and enjoy dessert on us (free ice cream and
watermelon). 

 

An Invitation to Participate in the Annual

Watershed Block Party!

 

When: Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Set up 12:00-2:30 pm)

Where:  Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Route 28,
Falmouth

Who: Any organization located in or that works within the Waquoit Bay
Watershed

Why: To raise awareness about estuaries and watersheds by providing
information to 

people about how they can become involved in protecting them.

How: Provide relevant and interesting information through fun and
engaging activities.

 

It's that time of year again. We're gearing up for a busy season and
looking forward to our biggest event of the summer- The Watershed Block
Party. This is a great opportunity for you to let people know about your
organization, volunteer group or community involvement. 

 

This event will attract adults and children, so we recommend hands-on
activities and interesting visuals to engage families. The Reserve
actually has more activities than we have people to staff them, so if
you'd like to borrow some equipment, please call Joan at 508-457-0495
x107.

 

We'll have a tent set up at our headquarters, as well as space out on
the bluff. We have a limited number of tables available, so if you can
bring your own, it would be a big help. If you need a table please
indicate on the registration form below, and we will reserve one for you
on a first-come, first-served basis.  Also, please bring along a banner
or placard to identify your organization. To be included in the press
release, please respond by July 15th.  You can still participate after
that date, but we may not be able to include your name in our press
release.

 

We look forward to seeing you at the Block Party!

This is a great opportunity to inform your neighbors about your group, 

what you're doing and to recruit volunteers for your good work.
